The differences between AS and IS in Oracle and their usage are basically the same.

As and is are synonyms set by ORACLE for convenience.

When to use

1. When creating a stored PROCEDURE (PROCEDURE)/FUNCTION (FUNCTION) and a custom type (TPYE) and PACKAGE (PACKAGE), there IS no difference between AS and IS.

2. When creating a VIEW, you can only use AS instead of IS.

3. When declaring a CURSOR (CURSOR), you can only use IS instead of.
