Differences between display process ps aux and ps-ef in Linux

Greg Kroah-Harman recently said that Microsoft has not verified the Linux kernel patch it submitted, and Sam Ranji assured us that Microsoft has been busy testing the 200 patch.

Harman from Novell is currently engaged in the development of Linux driver projects in SUSE Labs Division. He transplanted the Linux driver used by Hyper-V to the Linux kernel to meet Microsoft's needs. He was very disappointed with Microsoft's current practice. Despite a great effort to make the code compatible with the Linux kernel, Microsoft was not keen to update the code it released:

Hv Microsoft Hyper-V) The driver converted the code into a semi-sane kernel style using over 200 patches. They still owe me a bottle of rum !). Unfortunately, Microsoft developers suddenly disappeared and no one replied to my email. If they do not show up, these things will be removed from 2.6.33. It's so uncomfortable.

In view of this, InfoQ contacted Sam Ranji, senior director in charge of Microsoft Linux and open-source strategies, to find out if Microsoft has changed its idea of contributing to the Linux kernel. He assured us that Harman's work would never be in vain:

We are working on Hyper-V driver development on Linux day and night, and have spent weeks testing over 200 patches submitted by the community. You also know that integration and testing are a big task. Now that this work is coming to an end, we are continuing to develop new features based on the road map, including support for smp1_ric multiprocessing in Linux on Hyper-V. Microsoft has called many full-time engineers and testers to do this work, both from the open-source technical center and from the Windows Server virtualization team.

Mary Jo Foley asked a Microsoft spokesman "has Microsoft ever thought about publishing its Hyper-V code under GPL ":

The spokesman declined to answer this question and said that the principal leader of Hyper-V driver traveled to Europe two weeks ago and "met many OSS open-source software) supporters and users ".

Ranji is about to leave the company by the end of this month. This is entirely due to Microsoft's attitude towards open source, and Ranji told us this is his personal reason. He will join a cloud computing company in Silicon Valley. He is currently the Temporary Chairman of the CodePlex Foundation.
