Different Internet needs correspond to different wireless encryption methods (1)

Many cainiao who are new to wireless Internet access are always worried that illegal users may share their wireless network connections without encrypting the wireless network. However, they are worried about encryption of the wireless network, affects the transmission speed of wireless Internet access. So should we encrypt the wireless network? How much will the transmission speed of the wireless network be affected if encryption measures are adopted for the wireless network? Can we find a two-pronged approach that neither requires wireless network encryption to speed up wireless Internet access nor prevents outsiders from sharing their wireless network connections at will?

In general, to ensure the security of wireless Internet access, we need to take appropriate security encryption measures for wireless networks. Although such operations have a slight impact on the network access speed, however, the impact on dial-up connections with a bandwidth of about 2 Mb is very limited. In view of this, we recommend that you use encryption measures to protect your wireless network devices from security attacks.

1. Refuse to broadcast SSID externally

We know that the reason why other people can secretly share their wireless network connections is mainly because the wireless router automatically broadcasts its ssid id information in the default status, when looking for valid network hotspots, nearby wireless network devices can easily find the ssid id information of the local wireless router, in this way, they can try to use the ssid id information to secretly share the local wireless network connection.

If we can find a way for the wireless router device to reject the ssid id number information for external broadcast, then the nearby wireless network device cannot find the valid ssid id number information, illegal users naturally cannot share the local wireless network, so that we can prevent unauthorized users from using the local wireless network connection without encryption.

To do this, we can manually set the local wireless router parameters to cancel the SSID Broadcast Function of the wireless router. During this setting, we can first go to the background management interface of the wireless router device as usual and find the "Wireless Parameters" setting item, open the "Basic settings" Page. In the displayed area on the right side of the page, you cannot guess the name of the ssid id.

Then, check whether the "allow SSID broadcast" option on the corresponding page is selected. By default, this option will be automatically selected. Therefore, we need to promptly cancel the selected status of this option, then, the selected state of the "Enable Security Settings" item on the page is canceled.

After completing the preceding settings, do not forget to save the settings. After the settings are saved, restart the wireless router, in this way, the wireless router device does not broadcast the ssid id information.

In order for the local workstation to connect smoothly with the wireless router, we also need to set the wireless Internet access parameters of the local workstation. During this setting, you can click Start, set, and network connection commands. In the displayed local network connection List window, find the target wireless network connection project, right-click the connection icon, and execute the "properties" command from the shortcut menu to open the target wireless network connection attribute setting window.

In the settings window, click the "wireless network settings" tab, click the "add" button on the corresponding option settings page, and then click the "associate" tab on the page, then, in the "Network Name" text box on the option settings page, correctly enter the SSID name we specified in the wireless router background, in addition, select the "automatically provide this key for me" project on the option settings page, and click "OK" to complete the wireless network settings for the local workstation, return to the network connection List window of the local workstation, double-click the target wireless network connection icon in the window, and the local workstation can smoothly access the Internet through a wireless router.

Because other users do not know the local SSID name information, they naturally cannot secretly share the local wireless network, not to mention illegal attacks on the local network.
