Disable auto Update for Windows 7

You can disable automatic Update for Windows 7 in the following two ways:

1. Modify the Registry. Back up the registry before the operation:
1. Click Start, Run regedit in the search bar, and then press Enter.

2. Expand the following registry, right-click windowsupdate, export it as a backup, and then delete windowsupdate.

2. If you use an administrator account, you can also disable the Group Policy Modification:

1. Click Start, enter and run gpedit. MSC in the search bar, and press Enter.

2. expand local computer policies, computer configurations, Management Templates, Windows components, and Windows Update in sequence.

3. Double-click automatic configuration update, select configuration, and click OK.
4. Refresh the Group Policy to take effect, or restart the system.
