Discard the Alpha router specification to easily complete Wan settings

The following section describes wan settings in the Alpha router manual. We all know that IP settings are the basis of Route settings. The following describes how to set static and dynamic IP addresses. Under the "wan" menu, there are five sub-items: "connection type", "Dynamic IP", "static IP", "pppoe", and "dns. Click each sub-item to configure the sub-item. The following describes the functions of each sub-item.

1. Connection type.

You can select the corresponding internet connection type based on your internet access method, including dynamic IP address, static IP address, and pppoe. Select the connection type and click "save" to go to the corresponding configuration page. The configuration parameters on each page are described below. Refer to the instructions of Alpha router!

2. Dynamic IP Address: the items that can be set when a dynamic IP address is used to access the Internet.
1) obtain an IP Address: Because the IP address obtained dynamically changes frequently, If you obtain the same IP address from a fixed IP address, you can enter this IP address here.
2) Maximum Transmission Unit: The maximum transmission unit value when the router dynamically obtains the IP address connection. Generally, keep the default value.
3) mac clone: Clone the mac address. If you need this function, enable it.
4) mac address: Enter the mac address to be cloned, and click "clone mac address.

3. static IP Address: the items that can be set when a static IP address is used to access the Internet.

1) the IP address assigned by the isp: the IP address of the wan interface of the router, which is provided by the isp.

2) subnet mask: The subnet mask of the wan interface of the router, which is provided by the isp, generally 255.255.255.0.

3) isp gateway ip Address: the gateway address of the router, provided by the isp.

4) Maximum Transmission Unit: The maximum transmission unit value when the router dynamically obtains the IP address connection. Generally, keep the default value.

5) How many IP addresses does the isp need? : This vro allows you to bind multiple IP addresses to the wan interface. If you need this function, select "yes" and enter your IP address in the Add IP address dialog box, click "add" to add an IP address. After adding the IP address, click "save" to save the settings and complete the settings. Refer to the instructions of Alpha router!

4. pppoe: the items that can be set when you access the Internet through pppoe virtual dialing.

1) User name: Your adsl account name.

2) password: the password of your adsl account.

3) confirm the password: Repeat the password of your adsl account.

4) server name: this name is required by some ISPs. Contact the isp.

5) Maximum Transmission Unit mtu (546-1492): The maximum transmission unit value of the router during the pppoe dial-up connection. Generally, keep the default value.

6) Maximum idle time: set the maximum idle time value of the vro. If no data flow passes through this period, the pppoe connection is automatically disconnected. If any computer sends a connection request, the router will automatically dial the internet.

7) connection mode: vro connection mode. There are three options: "Keep active", "Automatic Connection", and "manual connection.
① Keep activated: The vro remains online after successful dial-up, and the connection will not be automatically disconnected.
② Automatic connection: After the router is disconnected during the maximum idle time, it will automatically dial up to connect to the Internet. Refer to the instructions of Alpha router!
③ Manual connection: the router will not be automatically connected after being disconnected or manually disconnected during the maximum idle time. Manual connection is required.

5. On this page, manually specify the IP address of your local dns server.
1) IP address of the Primary Domain Name Server: Provided by the isp, You can consult with the isp.
2) IP address of the slave Domain Name Server: Provided by the isp, You can consult with the isp. Refer to the instructions of Alpha router!
