To this end, we have found the following ways to slim down: 1. Disabling sleep is a power saving state designed mainly for portable computers. Sleep usually saves work and settings in the memory and consumes a small amount of power, while sleep saves open documents and programs to the hard disk, and then closes the computer. In all energy-saving Windows, sleep consumes the least power. When the sleep function is enabled, the root directory of the C drive contains a file named hiberfil. the size of the sys File is an order of magnitude (there should be an individual difference, on my computer, about 1.49 GB ). For most people, the shutdown and sleep functions are sufficient. To save disk C overhead, you can disable the sleep function. To disable or enable the sleep function, use NotePad to create and edit a batch file suffixed with bat. To disable sleep, enter @ powercfg-h off, save; otherwise, if you want to enable it, enter @ powercfg-h on and save. Double-click the saved batch file as an administrator to disable or enable the sleep function. Use the command prompt/run to find the command prompt/run in "Start Menu" --> "attachment" to open the window. To disable sleep, enter the powercfg-h off command. Otherwise, enter the powercfg-h on command. 2. Modify the virtual memory settings. All programs running on the computer must be executed through the memory. If the program occupies a large or large amount of memory, the memory will be exhausted. To solve this problem, modern operating systems generally use virtual memory technology, that is, a portion of the hard disk space is used as memory. In Windows, a paging file named pagefile. sys is used to represent the virtual memory. We can find it in the root directory of the partition allocated with the virtual memory. In Win7, by default, the virtual memory space is provided by disk C, and the size is generally 1 ~ of the actual memory size of the local machine ~ 1.5 times. For the sake of speed, the virtual memory should be close to the system disk as much as possible, or even placed in the system. However, for me with a tight space on the C disk, the system disk is a pitfall. Therefore, I have set the virtual memory on the d disk. Set the parameters as follows: Right-click "computer" on the desktop and select "properties". The "Control Panel Homepage" window is displayed. in the upper-left corner of the "control panel Homepage" window, select "Advanced System settings ", the "System Properties" window is displayed. Under the "advanced" tab of the "System Properties" window, locate the "performance" area and click "Settings". The "performance options" window is displayed; find the "virtual memory" area under the "advanced" tab of the "performance options" window, and click "change" to bring up the "virtual memory" window; in the "virtual memory" window, deselect the "automatically manage all drive paging file size" check box and select; in the drive check box in the "size of paging files for each drive" area, click drive C, select "No paging files" below, and click "set "; in the drive check box in the "size of paging files for each drive" area, click drive D and select "Custom size" below to set the initial size and maximum value, click "set" and click "OK ". 3. The method before disk C resizing is from the perspective of throttling, that is, how to free up space for disk C without changing the total capacity of disk C. This will sacrifice part of the system's performance to a certain extent. This section is about how to increase the total capacity of the C drive, which solves the problem from the open source perspective. The simplest thing is to re-partition the system, but it also means that you need to reinstall the system. If you have installed a lot of software like me, reinstalling the system is troublesome, so it is not a priority. [After several rounds of hard work over the past few years, it is unnecessary for me to allocate a C disk to 50 GB, which is a waste of resources. Today's 25 GB is generally enough, however, it is not enough to install a large software similar to VS2010. Next partition is about 35 GB .] [I usually install a full d disk of the software, and the current size of all the software is 3 or 4 GB, so 30 GB is a waste. Next time, only 15 ~ 20 GB. Disk C and disk D add up to 50 ~ About 55 GB ~]
