Quirky 8.2 has been released as a sister project for Puppy Linux and is a Linux distribution created with a custom tool called Woof.

The new version, Quirky 8.2, runs on a 64-bit x86 computer and provides incremental improvements to the previous 8.x version.

The code for the Quirky Linux 8.2 x86_64 is ' Xerus ', built using Ubuntu 16.04.2 binary packages, so Xerus is compatible with all Ubuntu repositories.

Quirky Fork from Puppy Linux, the main difference is that it has a "full install" feature, special snapshot and recovery capabilities, and the ability to upgrade through Service packs.

This release also includes many architectural improvements and package upgrades, including Jwmdesk, Urxvtcontrol, and take-a-shot for these new packages.

In addition, there are application changes, VLC abandoned the Xine,linux Kernel upgrade to 4.1.1 and SeaMonkey upgrade to the 2.48B1 version.
