Such applications may prompt high server temperatures, SMART disk warnings, or cooling fan failures on servers. The problem is that if the monitoring solution cannot know that they are monitoring virtual machines, it cannot know that the hardware system has a potential impact on server availability.

The monitoring software should handle problems with the master server hardware. However, if the primary server is in danger, any virtual machine running on the host will face the same problem.
