Domestic broadband connection vs China Unicom ADSL Network speed test (1)

Some people say that the price of China Unicom's ADSL service is too high, and others say that other broadband services are junk and cannot be used normally. So whether to choose the Orthodox and stable China Unicom ADSL or other access services with low prices? I'm afraid this is a confusing topic for many readers. With the fierce competition in broadband, more and more broadband service providers are entering the Community for publicity. Today, I will test the performance of broadband communication and China Unicom ADSL from multiple aspects at the same time to see who they are and who they are.

I. test environment and price comparison:

I am a user in a residential area in south Third Ring Road, Beijing. I activated the ADSL access service provided by the original Beijing Netcom in the residential area and applied for broadband access services in the residential area. Therefore, I am now using dual-line access at home, you can use both the broadband network and the ADSL access service. I applied for the 1 m service for Netcom ADSL and M service for broadband communication.

In terms of price, the monthly price of the Beijing Netcom ADSL line is 138 yuan, and the monthly price of the 105 mbps bandwidth package is yuan. In terms of speed, the maximum download speed for 1 m of the Beijing Netcom ADSL line should be 130 K/s, while the bandwidth 300 m should be K/s.

Ii. Actual speed test:

In order to better objectively compare the speed of the two, I did this without passing through any network equipment during the test. Because the broadband network is also connected through PPPOE dial-up, two different bandwidth dial-up connections are established during the test and the speed is tested.

During the test, T400 laptops, NICS, operating systems, and network cables are all the same. During the test, the telephone lines and computers are switched using ADSL cats, broadband access directly communicates with each other through the wall connection panel. Let's talk about the data to see how fast the two are.

1) Test the FTP connection speed of the China Netcom line:

I select an FTP server of the China Netcom line and download resources from it to compare the speed of the two. First, use the China Netcom ADSL connection. The download speed reaches 130 kb/S. From the numerical point of view, the download speed basically reaches the full speed, and it is slightly faster than the kb/s advertised, this may be because the server itself is connected to the China Netcom line. Of course, it is not ruled out that there is a certain degree of compression and transmission for the downloaded file in ISO format.

Through broadband access to the same server, the download speed reaches 300 kb/S, and there is a certain distance from the advertised kb/s. The actual bandwidth is equivalent to 2 MB.

Small Knot: both sides of the FTP access to the Netcom line are doing well, and the Netcom ADSL can run at full speed, and the bandwidth is equivalent to 2 MB of download speed.
