Easy way to view Windows 2003 logs

The Windows log file, which records every detail of the Windows system's operation, plays a vital role in the steady running of Windows. By looking at the Windows log in the server, the administrator can find out the cause of the server failure in a timely manner.
Under normal circumstances, network management are in the local view log records, because the current LAN scale is relatively large, so network management can not stay in the server every day. Once away from the server, network management is difficult to understand the server system in time, maintenance work will be affected. The Web Access interface feature provided by Windows Server 2003 (Windows 2003) now solves this problem by allowing network administrators to remotely view log records for Windows 2003 servers.

Remote viewing of log records for Windows 2003 servers is simple. On the remote client (Windows 98/2000/xp/2003 System), run IE browser and enter "https://Win2003 server IP Address: 8098" in the address bar, such as "https://192.168.0.1:8098". Enter the administrator username and password in the pop-up Login dialog box and click "OK" to log in to the Web Access interface management interface. Then click on the "Maintenance" link in the "Welcome" interface, switch to the "maintenance" Admin page, and click on the "Log" link to enter the Log Management page. In the Log Management page, the administrator can view, download, or clear the Windows 2003 server log.

The Log Management page lists all the log classifications for Windows 2003 servers, such as application logs, security logs, system logs, web Administration logs, and so on.

It's very simple to view certain types of logging, the author to view the Web management log as an example, click the "Web Management Log" link, enter the Log View page, in the Log File list box to check the log file, and then click on the right side of the "View Log" button, you can browse the details of the Web management log records.

Clear a log file is also very simple, select the log file, click the "Clear" button. If you think remote viewing logs are inconvenient and want to view them in the local machine, you can download the log files to your local hard drive. Select a log file, then click on the "Download Log" button, in the pop-up "File download" dialog box, click the "Save" button and specify the storage path.
