Defects of the original system disk installation-whether it is Windows
98 or Windows NT/2000/
XP, which can only implement initial installation of a single system, and lacks debugging and maintenance, system recovery, DOS anti-virus, and other tools. Although N-in-1 discs are available on the market, they are generally bulky and cannot meet their own needs.
This problem can be solved with an easyboot dial. Easyboot is an integrated Chinese boot CD tool. It can create a CD boot menu, automatically generate a STARTUP file, and generate an ISO file that can be started. With its built-in burning function, you can create a boot disc of your own right away.
I. Functions
Let's take a look at easyboot.
-- Boot menu for a pure dos disc.
See Figure 1:

Figure 1
How are you doing? In fact, all the basic functions of easyboot are shown here.
· Full Chinese Color Interface
Easyboot allows you to easily generate a colorful Chinese menu that can be displayed in pure dos, so that the operator can see it at a glance.
· Multi-Boot Image Support
Each menu item can be mounted with an operating system boot image to simulate the Startup Process of the original disc, so when you put XP and 98 on a single disk like I did, of course there is no problem.
What is a boot image? We know that there are sectors dedicated to storing boot data on the hard disk, and the same is true for the disc. Each self-boot disc also has such a boot area with built-in special boot commands, to simulate the startup of the original system disk, you only need to mirror the boot zone of the original system disk into a file and attach it to a menu. When you select this menu, easyboot automatically calls the image file to simulate startup, and does not have to worry about memory usage in DOS.
· Custom background and startup Screen
Easyboot has a wide range of customization options, including text, background, and decorative strips. If you want to, you can also make the company logo into a boot screen before the boot menu.
· Scheduled start of menu countdown
Users who often install the system know that the system will usually be restarted several times during the entire system installation process. The original system disk will automatically start from the hard disk after several seconds of no operation, to avoid the trouble of manually modifying the BIOS startup sequence after each restart. In easyboot, you can set the default menu and countdown start to achieve the same effect.
· Flexible control and support for Mouse
/Keyboard/
Shortcut Key
In the Start menu, you can use any of the mouse, cursor key, and shortcut keys to execute menu commands.
· Built-in commands for hard disk startup and computer restart
Easyboot itself contains two commands to start and restart the computer from the hard disk, so that we can implement special functions.
· Disc password protection
After this function is set, the user must provide a password each time the DOS starts the disc. (Password protection is supported only on the main menu)
· Mutual calls between the main menu and submenus are supported.
The menu is stored in. ezb format in easyboot. You can choose whether to save it as the main menu or sub menu on the menu creation interface.
XX. ezb commands to call each other.
· Generate an ISO file directly and dial it directly
Since it is a CD editing software, easyboot also includes the burning function. It can easily generate standard ISO files and directly dial.
Note: An ISO file is a type of file that can be backed up as an image on a CD. You can directly dial the ISO file. If the original CD supports dos boot, then the engraved disc can also be started by DOS.
· Real-Time preview editing
You can preview the final effect in real time during editing. What you see is what you get, which is very easy to get started.
Ii. Principles
Let's talk about how easyboot works.
After the software is installed, the following directory structure is generated. See Figure 2:

Figure 2
A general system boot disc starts in the following sequence:
CD-ROM boot → execute the CD boot zone command → find the specific sector according to the command →
Execution-related Program . While the use of easyboot is slightly changed, to: CD-ROM boot → execute the CD boot zone command (loader. bin in ezboot) →
Call the required program and the specified menu file in the current directory → display menu → search for and execute the mounted Boot Image in the current directory based on the user's menu selection → start with an image simulated disc →
Execute related procedures.
I believe that after reading the above story, we have a general idea about how easyboot works. To put it simply, easyboot provides a Chinese menu interface, and then runs different boot images by selecting different menus to install different operating systems.
Iii. Practice
I 've talked a lot about the theory. I'm afraid some friends have been bored. Let's take a look at how the CD in Figure 1 is made.
1. Main Interface

Figure 3
2. Select an image as the background
First find a beautiful image and place it in easyboot \ disk1 \
In the ezboot directory, enter the corresponding file name in the above "background image". Of course, if you want to add a boot screen that introduces the content of the disc or the company's business, follow the above steps and select "show logo" and enter the file name.
Remember, easyboot only supports BMP images of 640x480 and 256 colors.
3. Create a menu
Click the menu bar tab. The Dialog Box 4 is displayed.

3. Create a menu
Click the menu bar tab. The Dialog Box 4 is displayed.
Figure 4
See Figure 1 at the beginning. It should be very simple, you only need to modify the menu text, command execution, shortcut keys, and colors as needed. If you want to set a menu as the default, you only need to select the menu and then click "set as default.
Easyboot supports the following menu commands:
(1)
Run the image run XX. bin/XX. IMG (used to call the boot image file to simulate startup)
(2) Run XX. ezb (for Master/
Mutual calls of single sub-course rooms)
(3) special feature boot 80 (boot from hard disk)
Reboot (restart the computer)
(4) Multi-Command Execution
Commands are separated by commas (;).
You may ask where to find the boot image? Don't worry, easyboot already comes with 98/NT/2000/
XP image file, where, Win2k. Bin applies to NT/2000/
XP three systems, if you use DOS to make a boot floppy disk, you can also use winimage to make the entire floppy disk into img/
Ima image files are also supported by easyboot.
4. Title and layout Modification
Other modifications mainly refer to the modification of the title bar, prompt bar, and decorative bar. This is relatively simple. You can modify the "text display" and "screen layout" labels as needed.
5. other modifications
Return to the "file" tab again to specify the time after which the default menu of the CD will be automatically executed, and enter the required time in "wait time. If you want to verify the password when the disc starts, enter the password in the blank bar before "P" and click "p.
6. Prepare the Installation File
Copy the i386 directories of WIN98 and XP to the disk1 directory. (Because the disk1 directory after the disc is engraved is equivalent to the root directory of the disc)
7. generate an ISO image and dial it
Click "make ISO" to make the completed CD Template into an ISO file, and then you can click "burn cd" to directly burn the CD.
As shown above,
Easyboot is very powerful. Theoretically, as long as a boot image is available, how complicated a cd (such as the N-in-1 CD on the market) can be easily created, however, because the Directory Name of the installation file of the N-in-One CD is repeated, you can use the binary editor to modify the boot file. If you are interested, you can find the information on the Internet, I will not go into detail here. Recently, the computer company where I am located has also begun to present the System Restoration Disc Made by easyboot to customers. The results are very good. You can also try to use easyboot as your boot disc!
Use easyboot to create an N-in-One CD
Easyboot is an excellent domestic software dedicated to making multiple boot menus and supports file connection technology, this is a relatively new technology (not supported by Windows file systems). The ISO file system on the CD supports this technology. This technology can store several identical files in the same location, but different files are stored in different directories. This is why windows can be integrated on a CD.
The root cause of several versions of 2000 for different versions of Windows
2000. In fact, most of the files are the same, and only a few files are different. In this way, the same files are stored in the same storage location, and different files are stored separately. a cd can also be used together, however, if you copy these files to the hard disk, they will be separated into different directories. Because Windows does not support this technology, therefore, the content on the CD will occupy more than 1 GB on the hard disk. Some people have brought this technology to the extreme and made a 16-in-one XP. They used easyboot to create various N-in-One CD articles. You can follow the tutorial to create various N-in-One CD files you need. Note the following:
1. The process of creating an N-in-One CD is very complicated. If one step fails, the CD will be decommissioned. If you are just curious, you can try to make a 98 and XP dual-in-one CD, it is easy to succeed. Otherwise, it is best to use a CR-RW disc for trial or use a Virtual Machine (VMware (or virtual
PC) to test the ISO file. It is confirmed that the created ISO file is normal before it is officially burned to avoid unnecessary losses.
2. For Windows and Windows XP, several files are required to simulate a floppy disk group. For Windows, in the original disk boootdisk folder 1, the XP installation floppy disk group can be downloaded from the Microsoft Website:

Appendix:
Boot discs can be divided into three types: the first is a single system boot disc. That is, the CD supports the startup of a system, such as Windows
98 or Windows XP startup. Since only a single system is started, it is very easy to create; the second is Windows XP and Windows
98 2 in combination with 1 boot disk. Since the two systems have different boot principles, it is easier to create them. The third is multiple boot methods for the same operating system. For example, Windows XP
Pro and Windows XP
The Home Edition 2-in-1 Boot discs require special measures and skills during preparation because they have the same startup principles.
This article will introduce how to create these boot discs based on these three situations. Before proceeding to the following operations, we need a powerful tool, easyboot. Easyboot is an integrated Chinese boot CD tool that allows you to create a boot menu for all Chinese discs, automatically generate startup files, and create an ISO file that can be started. The software has been built in for Windows
98/2000/XP boot file, we only need to use the recording software to make their own boot CD.
1. Create windows
XP boot Disc
1. Prepare files
(1) install i386 in the root directory of the CD for Windows XP
Copy the directory to c: \ easyboot \ disk1;
(2) install win51 in the root directory of the CD for Windows XP
Copy the file to c: \ easyboot \ disk1. For Windows XP Home
Copy the win51ic file to c: \ easyboot \ disk1. For Windows XP Pro, copy the win51ip address in the root directory of the CD.
Copy the file to c: \ easyboot \ disk1;
(3.set autorun.infw.readme.htm=setup.exe
Copy the file to c: \ easyboot \ disk1;
(4) If you want
SP1 is also engraved into the CD. Create the directory c: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ SP and copy the required files to this directory.
Check whether the following files exist in the following directory:
C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ ezboot \ w2ksect. Bin
C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ i386 \ bootfix. Bin
C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ i386 \ setupldr. Bin
C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ win51
C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ win51ic (or
C: \ easyboot \ disk_xp \ win51ip)
2. Create a Chinese Startup Menu
Two windows are displayed when easyboot is run. The control window is displayed on the left, as shown in 1. The preview window is on the right side. We can see the system installation disc startup interface in real time. By default, the software will automatically generate a sample of the menu file cdmenu. ezb. We only need to modify it on this basis.
Click the "screen layout" tab to define the color of the menu. Click the "text display" tab to define the text attributes of the menu, including the coordinates in the upper left and lower right corner, text Content, alignment, and other parameters. We can also set some CD production information here, such as inputting the producer's name in the input box after "text content ".
Time.
On the menu bar tab, click the corresponding entry in the window in the lower-right corner of the page to see the corresponding options highlighted on the preview page on the right. The command parameters corresponding to this option are displayed in the "Execute Command" input box. The commands corresponding to the menu bar can be divided into two types: the first class is run
Command to run the image file and start DoS or Windows 98/NT/2000/XP. For example, the run dos98.img command is used to start Windows
98. Because we created a Windows xp pro boot disk, we should enter "Install Windows XP Pro" in the "menu text" column and enter "run" in the "Run Command" column.
W2ksect. Bin ". The second type is the boot command. For example, "Boot 80" indicates starting from the hard disk, "boot
"0" indicates that the disk is started, "reboot" indicates that the system is restarted, and "CD \" indicates that the disk is switched to the root directory. Note that multiple commands can be executed on a menu bar. You only need to separate them. For example, "CD
Boot; run
W2ksect. Bin ".
All other parameters must use the default value of the software. After the settings are complete, go back to the "Files" tab and press the "save" button to automatically generate the required Startup File and menu file.
3. Create an ISO file
Copy the corresponding startup files such as dos98.img and w2ksect. bin to the C: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ ezboot directory to reduce the number of files in the root directory. Switch to the "Files" tab and press the "Create ISO" button. The software will open the dialog box shown in 2, and select the CD file directory as c: \ easyboot \ disk1, set the boot file to c: \ easyboot \ disk1 \ ezboot \ loader. bin, cannot be changed to other files, otherwise the Start menu will not appear. Select the "optimized disc file" option in the "options" column. To support lower-case file names, select "use Joliet". You can set the "CD 标, set the output ISO file name to c: \ easyboot \ ISO \ WINXP. ISO, press the "make" button to generate a Windows
XP starts the ISO file of the installation disc.
4. Burn a cd
Use virtual optical drive tools such as Daemon tools to load WINXP. ISO
File to ensure that the file is not damaged. Next we can use our familiar burning software (such as Nero) to burn it onto the CD. In this way, a personalized Windows XP
The installation of the CD is complete.
