Sharing Files in the LAN, FTP is one of the more convenient solutions. Windows 7 integrates FTP, but it takes a lot of effort to set it. Text to remember.

1. install FTP Components

The FTP component is not installed by default in win7. Therefore, the first step in FTP settings is to install the FTP component.

Click Control Panel> Programs and functions> to enable or disable windows. Select "FTP server" and "FTP service", and click "OK" to install the FTP component. As shown in

2. Add an FTP site

Click Control Panel-> management tools. Select "Internet Information Service (IIS) manager ",

Double-click "Internet Information Service (IIS) manager ". The administrator interface is displayed, as shown in:

Click "website", right-click it, and select "add FTP site". The "Site Information" page is displayed, as shown below:

Name FTP (Zhu in this example), set the physical path of the FTP site (C: \ FTP in this example), and click "Next ", the "bind and SSL Settings" page appears, as shown in

Set the IP address to the IP address of the Local Machine. use ftp's default port 21. Select "NONE" for SSL ". Click "Next". The "authentication and authorization information" page is displayed, as shown in:

If you only want to set up a simple FTP, select "anonymous" for "authentication" and "Authorization", and set the relevant permissions for anonymous users. In this example, you also need to configure the FTP account and account permissions. Therefore, select "Basic" for "authentication", select "unselected" for "Authorization", and click "finish ", complete FTP site settings.

3. Set FTP accounts and permissions

Because the FTP account under win7 is a Windows user account. Therefore, you must first add two user accounts, one is view, which can browse and download FTP content; the other is admin, which has full control over FTP.

Click Control Panel> Management Tools> Computer Management. On the left side of the Computer Management Interface, click System Tools> local users and groups> users. All users are displayed on the right. As shown in:

Right-click a user and a new user is displayed, as shown in the following figure:

Enter view in the user name, set the password, and deselect the check box "the user must change the password upon next login", and select "the user cannot change the password" and "the password will never expire ". Click "CREATE" to create the user view. Follow these steps to create an admin user. Because Windows adds users to the users group by default, you can delete the two users from the users group. Click "group" in "Computer Management", find users in the list on the right, and double-click it. The following page is displayed: Click User View, and click "delete ", click admin and click Delete ". Delete two users from the users group.

Next, add permissions to view and admin on the FTP site.

Click Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Internet Information Service (IIS) manager. Click the FTP site you just created. Click "FTP Authorization Rules ". As shown in:

Click "Edit Permissions" on the right to add user permissions to the FTP site folder. In the displayed window, click the "Security" tab ., As shown in:

Click "edit". The permission window is displayed as follows:

Click "add", enter view in "Enter object name to select", and click "OK" to add a view User. As follows:

Added view users. By default, only the read and list permissions are granted. Add Admin users in accordance with the law and grant full control permissions to admin users. As follows:

Return to the "Internet Information Service (IIS) manager" window, double-click the selected "FTP authorization rule", and authorize view and admin on the FTP site. As follows:

Click "add allow rules" on the right. In the displayed window, select "specified user" and enter view. In the "permission" section below, select "read ". As follows:

Click "OK" to add a view user to the FTP site. The corresponding permission is read. Add an admin user to the FTP site. The corresponding permission is read and write.

Now, FTP site settings are complete. The site folder is c: \ ftp. The view user has the permission to read (browse and download), and the admin user has the permission to read and write (upload and delete. Of course, you can also add users and corresponding permissions according to the actual situation, add users to the group, and then set permissions for the group. You can also add anonymous users.

However, things are far from over. If you are eager to perform the test. We will find that the test on the local machine is normal, but if we use another machine to test FTP, we will find that the connection fails. The problem lies in the firewall under win7. If you turn off the firewall, you will find that FTP is back to normal, but you cannot use ftp to turn off the firewall of win7. If you want to enable the firewall in Windows 7, you must also set it in the firewall.

Iv. Windows 7 firewall settings

Click Control Panel> Windows Firewall. Click "allow programs or functions to use Windows Firewall" on the left, select "FTP server", and check the following two boxes, as shown below:

This is the firewall settings described by the vast majority on the Internet. However, it is not enough. If you do the test, you will find that the connection still fails. Further settings must be made in the firewall.

Click "allow another program to run" at the bottom. In the displayed window, click "Browse", find c: \ windows \ system32 \ inetsrv \ inetinfo.exe, and click "add, that is, Internet infomation services in. Select both of the following boxes. In win7, FTP is a component of IIS, so you must set IIS to allow in the firewall. IIS is not in the default list, so you must manually add it.

Unfortunately, FTP still cannot be used normally. Because FTP uses port 21, you must add inbound and outbound port rules to the firewall.

In the Windows Firewall window, click "Advanced Settings" on the left to bring up the advanced security firewall window. Click "inbound rules" on the left, as shown in:

Click "create rule" on the right. The Wizard interface is displayed. Select "Port ",

Click "Next", select TCP (TCP is used for FTP), select a specific local port, and enter 21 (port 21 is used for FTP ):

Click "Next" and select "allow connection ",

Click "Next". The default values are all selected,

Click "Next" and enter the name in the name. In this example, the name is 21,

Click "finish" to complete the Inbound Rule settings. In the same way, set the outbound rule, which is also port 21.

So far, the firewall in win7 has been set up. Now the test is basically normal.

However, there is a small problem:

When using IE to browse FTP, although you can log on, FTP content cannot be displayed. This is an issue with IE settings. In the Internet option, uncheck "use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)" to solve the problem of browsing failure. As shown in:

Descending Order. In general, win7's built-in FTP settings are more complicated than some third-party FTP software settings. However, in some cases, you can only use the built-in FTP of win7. The above content is collected on the internet, plus my own tests. If anyone has any questions about FTP settings, please contact us.
