After the Node. js community is split internally, the Node. js code is divided into two different projects: io. js and Node. js. After the two projects were reconciled, in 2015, the Linux Foundation helped to create the Node. js Foundation. The two projects merged the code and went to the unified Node. js Foundation.
The JS Foundation also follows the Node. js foundation model. The Foundation members will support various JavaScript projects, including technical guidance, human resources, and funding.

IBM and Samsung are also members of the Foundation.

Members of the foundation include Bocoup, IBM, Ripple, Samsung, Sauce Labs, Sense Tecnic Systems, SitePen, StackPath, University of Westminster, and WebsiteSetup.

Initial projects include: Appium, Chassis, DojoToolkit, ESLint, Esprima, Globalize, Grunt, and Interledger. js, Intern, Jed, JerryScript, jQuery, jQuery Mobile, jQuery UI, Lodash, Mocha, Moment, Node-RED, PEP, QUnit, RequireJS, Sizzle, and webpack.

Most of these are top-level JavaScript projects that are used by thousands of developers. However, we noted that the Node. js project was not added to the JS foundation because of its own foundation.

If you agree to join the JS Foundation, these projects will benefit from the public development strategy to eliminate chaos in today's JavaScript community. The Foundation will set up goals shared by all projects and provide financial support for core projects. These core projects are currently used for server applications, browsers, cloud applications, and IOT devices.

The jQuery Foundation has become the JS Foundation.

The JS foundation is not built out of thin air. Its core is the previous jQuery Foundation. Although jQuery has slowed down, many developers are even surprised that jQuery is still alive, because there are already various better tools. But jQuery is still synonymous with JavaScript in a sense. Many members of the jQuery foundation are very influential in the JavaScript field. Therefore, the establishment of a new JS Foundation will help them play their role and promote the further development of the JavaScript ecology.
