The thousand separator is a commonly used data symbol in Excel. Today we'll learn how to control the display or hide of the thousands separator in Excel 2007.

1, select the cells you want to format.

Tip To deselect a range of cells, click any cell in the worksheet.

2, on the Start tab, click the dialog Box Launcher next to number.

3, on the Number tab, click Number in the Category list.

4. To show or hide the thousand separator, select or clear the use thousands separator (,) check box.

Tip To quickly display the thousand separator, you can click the thousand separator style in the number group on the Start tab.

Note by default, Microsoft Office Excel Displays the system thousand separator. You can specify a different system separator by changing the locale in Control Panel.
