It is essential for enterprises to ensure wireless network security. The entire company's business and confidentiality are the lifeblood of an enterprise. If the network security work gets rough, how can enterprises achieve all-round development? This article focuses on enterprise wireless network security and introduces several methods to ensure wireless network security.

Protect wireless network security protect enterprise wireless network security with encryption

You can configure wireless network devices to encrypt wireless networks. For enterprise wireless network encryption, not only the practicality but also the security should be taken into account, which is also the basic principle of enterprise wireless network encryption. Next, I will take a wireless router as an example to introduce the encryption method of the wireless network.
In fact, multiple settings of the wireless router can achieve the goal of encrypting the wireless network. Next, I will introduce some common encryption modes. You can select a suitable network encryption mode based on your actual situation.

Ensure wireless network security and reasonably configure SSID Broadcast

Each wireless network has an SSID number, which is also a pass for users to access the wireless network. For example, the SSID number is equivalent to an account in Windows XP. Without the SSID number, the computer cannot access the wireless network.

Generally, the wireless router broadcasts the SSID Number of the wireless network. users who do not know the SSID Number of the wireless network can also log on to the wireless network. For enterprise users, it is very dangerous to enable the SSID broadcast of a wireless router. Therefore, enterprise networks must disable the SSID broadcast. After the SSID of the wireless router is disabled, unauthorized computers cannot log on to the enterprise wireless network, which ensures the security of the enterprise wireless network. However, after SSID broadcast is disabled, the user's wireless network can still be used, but it will not appear in the list of available networks found by others. For security, enterprise Network Manager also needs to change the default SSID Number of the wireless router.

Careful network management will find that the default SSID numbers of some brand wireless routers are very regular, for example, the default SSID Number of the TP-Link wireless router is "TP-Link ". If you do not change the default SSID Number of the wireless router, intruders can easily guess the SSID number and log on to the enterprise wireless network. For this reason, the enterprise network administrator must obtain an easy-to-guess SSID number for the wireless network.
To Disable SSID broadcast, you can directly go to the configuration interface of the wireless router and disable "allow SSID broadcast. However, disabling SSID broadcast will reduce the efficiency of the wireless router.

Disable DHCP service to ensure Wireless Network Security

On the surface, the DHCP service and wireless network security are irrelevant. In fact, the activation of DHCP is also a threat to the enterprise's wireless network. As we all know, in addition to the SSID number, an authorized IP address is required for a computer to log on to the wireless network.
When the DHCP service is enabled, the wireless router automatically allocates IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, DNS server addresses, and other information to the computers that enter the wireless network. Intruders can access the wireless network without any effort. The number of computer terminals of an enterprise is limited. The enterprise wireless network can be manually assigned IP addresses, which not only improves the security of the wireless network, but also facilitates the management of the enterprise network.

Disable DHCP service to ensure Wireless Network Security

Go to the configuration interface of the wireless router, select "DHCP service" in "DHCP server", and tick "not enabled" to disable the DHCP service. After the DHCP service is disabled, the vro must be restarted. After the DHCP service is disabled, CEN must configure an IP address on the computer client to log on to the wireless network.
Enabling the DHCP service will increase the burden on the wireless router. As the number of users increases, the burden on the wireless router will become heavier. More importantly, enabling the DHPC service will also cause insecure enterprise wireless networks. Disabling a DHCP server can reduce the overhead of the wireless router, improve the efficiency of the wireless router, and make the enterprise's wireless network more secure.
