Extracting from strings from a string using JavaScript

Problem: There is a string that consists of a ijige sentence, in which a sentence has a list of items, starting with a colon (:), ending with a period (.), how do we extract this list

Workaround: Use the Indexof+string method to find the colon, and then use it again to find the first point after the colon, with both locations, using the string substring method to extract the string
