Facebook said on Monday that Mike Schroepfer was vice president of Mozilla for engineering, head of Firefox browser Development Team, and former chief technology officer of Sun Microsystems. Schroepfer has accepted the title of Facebook engineering director and takes office in a few weeks.
Schroepfer is a new position. He is one of Facebook's four engineering directors and focuses on front-end products and platform engineering. He is directly led by Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook.
Schroepfer served as the Chief Technology Officer of the data center Automation Department while working at Sun Microsystems and became an outstanding engineer. He joined Sun after Sun acquired CenterRun. Schroepfer is the founder and chief designer and Engineering Manager of CenterRun.
