In Windows XP, when you need to view network properties or change network settings, simply right-click the Network Neighborhood icon on the desktop to select Properties and go to the networking window without having to navigate through the control Panel. In Windows Vista, the situation is slightly changed, the desktop "Network" icon properties linked to the "Network and Sharing Center" page, and to enter the "Network Connections" interface, users have to do additional operations, that is, through the left-hand task list, "Manage network links."
Although this is not a big problem, although "Network and Sharing Center" can provide us with more detailed information about the network, but for the only need for network settings, this step is obviously a bit verbose.
The solution is to create a shortcut to the network connection, bypassing the network and Sharing Center. The following steps are set:
Right-click on the desktop and select New => shortcut;
In the Project Location dialog box, enter the following:
Explorer.exe:: {7007acc7-3202-11d1-aad2-00805fc1270e}
Name the shortcut and click Finish.
This way, when you need to set or view network properties, you can simply click on the shortcut to go directly to the Network Connection window without having to go through the network and Sharing Center.
Of course, if you want, you can also put it in the Quick Launch toolbar.
