Fedora10 officially released

Fedora is an open, innovative, and proactive operating system and platform based on Linux. It allows anyone to use, modify, and re-release freely, no matter now or in the future. It is developed by a strong community where members make unremitting efforts to provide and maintain free and open source software and open standards. The Fedora Project is managed and controlled by the Fedora Foundation and supported by Red Hat and Inc.

The Fedora development community announced that the final official version of Fedora 10 has been released. As a new open-source Linux release, Fedora 10 introduces many important new features and technologies to improve the availability of desktop user experience.

Since the related servers were attacked by malicious hackers in August this year, the official version of Fedora 10 was released a month later than originally planned. The Fedora development community had to take some key devices offline after an accident. Fortunately, no source code was found to be stolen after inspection.

Based on the Linux Kernel 2.6.27 introduced in February October this year, Fedora 10 has improved compatibility with popular cameras and integrated the new Atheros ath9k wireless driver. The Firefox 3.0.4 browser is also available by default.

Fedora 10 provides the latest installation environments KDE 4.1 and GNOME 2.24. The former is released in July, and the latter is released in July, integrates the Empathy and Labelled browsing of the instant messaging client, and improves the Nautilus file management.

According to official release notes, the main features of Fedora 10 include:

-Enable ad hoc network sharing for wireless connection sharing

-Better settings and improved management tools for printer use

-Simplifies the provision of local and remote virtual storage

-New security audit and intrusion detection system SecTool

-Powerful and flexible software management Library RPM updated to version 4.6

-Re-compile the PulseAudio audio server so that it can use time-based audio scheduling to achieve fault-free audio and better performance.

-Improved camera support

-Better support for infrared remote control to facilitate connection with many applications

-Added/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin to PATH to simplify command line management tasks.
