Previously, a Fedora developer suggested that Fedora18 use the MATE desktop environment, which is a Linux Desktop System developed based on Gnome2. The suggestion was approved by FESCo yesterday, the MATEDesktop desktop environment will be used in the next 18 ora Version 18. FESCo also signed 16 other suggestions, including ownCloud

The suggestion was approved by FESCo yesterday, And the next version of Fedora 18 will adopt the MATE Desktop environment.

In addition, FESCo also signed 16 other suggestions, including the ownCloud cloud platform and Samba 4 integration. Python will be upgraded to version 3.3. For a complete list, see here. We also mentioned that the Fedora kernel should be updated to version 3.6 at least. Fedora 18 will continue to use the Ext4 file system format by default.
