In addition to competing on the Android tablet, Chrome and Firefox continue to fight against Windows 8. Both sides are constantly exposing their Metro browser development plans and progress.
One reason is that these two browsers did not log on to the iOS platform and cannot meet a large number of iPad users. On the other hand, Windows 8 is not only a desktop operating system, but also a tablet operating system, the two browsers cannot watch the other screen being snatched by IE.
In March, Mozilla took the lead in releasing the development plan for the Metro version of Firefox. In March, Google also announced the development plan for the Metro version of Chrome. Then, we can almost see that Metro Firefox and Metro Chrome appeared almost at the same time in front of the public. On the Windows 8 platform, they once again began to compete for speed.
However, Mozilla is faster than Google. In July April, Mozilla revealed the running of Firefox of Metro version, which has complete functions, including tabs, browsing history, and navigation bar. It also integrates the global search function of Windows 8. After you enter a website address in Windows 8, you can directly use Firefox to browse the webpage or display the search page through Firefox.
Later in May, Mozilla published a document to reveal the future development direction of Firefox, including the design of the Metro version of Firefox. We can see that, the tab is placed at the top of the browser.
On the other hand, Google announced its development plan in December and it was not until yesterday that it was released when Chrome of Metro was running. From this perspective, it does not follow the style guidance of Microsoft Windows 8 and does not seem to be much different from the original Chrome. However, if you look at the right side carefully, we can see that the "wrench" button is changed to "menu". If you expand it, you can see different functions, such as opening new tags, printing, and searching.
According to the browsing interface between the two, we can see that Metro Firefox takes into account the Windows 8 style and user habits. Therefore, it adds a distinctive element of Metro on the basis of the original interface.
For now, Mozilla has learned the word "quick" from Google. It is just around the corner for Microsoft to launch a mature product in autumn with Windows 8. On the other hand, Google apparently wants to speed up R & D and prepare for a tough battle-although we do not know how big the "battlefield" of Windows 8 RT will be.
