Firefox plans to allow users to manage additional components on their own

In May 22, Mozilla lab launched a new program named "Jetpack", which is expected to significantly change the interaction between users and websites and manage third-party additional components.

In general, this plan enables or disables programs written by developers on the Firefox browser without restarting. Currently, Firefox's additional component system cannot do this, but some third-party tools such as Greasemonkey can do this. You can decide which scripts to enable on your own.

This will also solve another problem. In the future, even if the browser has a major update, the developer's program will not expire or become unusable. At present, this problem has plagued Firefox's additional components for many years, forcing many developers to make partial adjustments to the program to make the append program continue to operate. But on the new system, no matter which Jetpack additional component you install, the program can work normally.

In addition to no need to restart or update, Jetpack does not break down. The most exciting thing about Jetpack is to give users more control to decide what will happen to the website and how to interact with the content. For example, the Mozilla lab has another plan "Ubiquity". If a user accesses a website controlled by Jetpack, they can immediately obtain these additional components without publishing a prompt in the attachment component directory, or let the user search for it by themselves.
