Operation Steps:
1. Launch Fireworks MX, create a new file, file width and height are set to 200 pixels, can be any size, the background is white.
2. Click the line tool in the vector section of the Tools panel, and hold down the Shift key on the keyboard to draw a straight line in the editing area.


3. Select the Pointer tool in the selection section of the Tools panel to select the line.

4. Click the Stroke category Drop-down box in the property inspector.

5. Select stroke Options.

6. Select "Pencil".

7. Choose "Color Pencil".

8. Set the texture to ' 0% ' in the texture.

9. Click the Advanced button.

10. In the "Spacing" entry "200%", note that this is the manual input, this step is the key to produce dashed effects. In web design, the value of "300%" is often used. In fact, by this step, the dotted line has been done.

11. On the Shapes tab, if "Square" is not selected and the size is greater than 8, the tip of the brush appears rounded. You need to select "Square" when making thin dashes. The tip of a brush is also called a stroke.

12. "Size" is used to set the tip size of the brush. Web page production often choose "size" to create a thin dotted line.

13. Orientation sets the tip width of the brush. Positive circle or square, select "100" or "0".

14. "Angle" only has an effect on the square.

15. To make it easier to use this custom dashed strokes later, you need to save these steps as commands. Select the stroke in the history panel.

16. Click "Save steps as command".
17. In the Save Command dialog box, enter a name. Enter the dotted line in the instance.

18. When you need to apply a dashed line, select "Dotted line" under the Command menu.
