Five font families in CSS (cursive handwritten font family attracts me more), csscursive
This is the family of five fonts in CSS.
Serif
The serif Chinese is translated as "serif font family ".
Serif has a type of font whose ends are bold, expanded, or sharp, or end with an actual line.
We can see that serif is always at the end of the text, so the purpose is to enhance readability. That is to say, when the font size is small, the serif family fonts are still quite recognizable.
Typical serif fonts include: Times New Roman, MS Georgia, ......
Serif can also be derived from two font families: petit-serif (small linefeed font family (the terminal changes are not obvious )), slab-serif (carved line font family (very obvious changes at the end )). Because the text displayed on the monitor is not big, the font family of the small line is generally considered as the font family of the non-line, such as the simhei.
Sans-serif
Sans-serif is translated as "inlined font family ". Sans-the prefix is French and is pronounced as/san/, meaning "NONE ".
Sans-serif has a smooth font and a uniform line, which is suitable for artistic words and titles. Compared with the "lineline font", it looks a little hard if the font size is relatively small.
Typical sans-serif fonts include: MS Trebuchet, MS Arial, MS Verdana, youyuan,, ......
Cursive
The Chinese Translation of cursive is "handwritten font family ".
As the name suggests, the words in these fonts are similar to those written by hand.
Typical cursive fonts include: Caflisch Script, Adobe Poetica, mini yellow grass, Chinese grass ......
Fantasy
Fantasy is translated into "Fantastic font family" in Chinese ".
Fantasy is mainly used in images. The font looks artistic, and the actual web page is not used much.
Typical fantasy fonts include: WingDings, WingDings 2, WingDings 3, Symbol ......
Monospace
Monospace is translated into an equal-width font family ".
We know that letters in English are not wide, but with monospace, each letter is equal to width, and can be typeset like Chinese.
Typical monospace fonts include Courier, MS Courier New, and Prestige ......
Summary
In general, fonts are divided into two categories: serif and sans-serif, which can be divided into cursive, fantasy, and monospace.
