AutoCAD draws rectangles and ellipses

Example 2 drawing toilet floor plan

Step 1 Create a new graphics file

Start the AutoCAD 2002 system and create a new graphics file for the template "ACADISO.DWT".

Step 2 Draw Toilet contour

(1) Use the "Rectang" command to draw a rectangle. Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Command: _rectang
Specify the corner point or [chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]:50,0 Enter
	Specifies that the first corner point of the rectangle is (50,0)
Specify other corner or [dimensions]:280,270 Enter
	Specifies that the second corner point of the rectangle is (280,270)

Step 3 Draw The wash basin

(1) First use the "Rectang" command to draw a rectangle. Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Command: _rectang
Specify the corner point or [Chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]: F Enter
	Select the "Fillet" option to add rounded corners to the rectangle
Specify fillet radius for rectangles <0.0000>: 5 Enter
	Specify a fillet radius of 5
Specify the corner point or [chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]:220,10 Enter
	Specifies that the first corner point of the rectangle is (220,10)
Specify other corner or [dimensions]:270,80 Enter
	Specifies that the second corner point of the rectangle is (270,80)

(2) Then use the "ellipse" command to draw an ellipse. Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Command: _ellipse
Specify axis endpoint of ellipse or [arc/center]:2 30,45 Enter		//Specify the first endpoint of the ellipse axis
Specify other endpoint of axis:260,45, Enter	//Specify the second endpoint of the ellipse axis

Step 4 Draw the bathtub

(1) Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Command: _rectang
Specify the corner point or [chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]:60,80 Enter
	Specifies the first corner point of a rectangle
Specify other corner or [dimensions]:160,260 Enter
	Specifies the second corner point of a rectangle

(2) Then draw an elliptical arc. Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Command: _ellipse Specify axis endpoint of ellipse or [Arc/center]: _a
Specify axis endpoint of elliptical arc or [center]:150,120 Enter
	Specifies the first endpoint of the ellipse axis
Specify other endpoint of axis:70,120 Enter	Specifies the second endpoint of the ellipse axis
Specify distance to other axis or [rotation]:30 Enter	Specify the radius of another axis of the ellipse
Specify start angle or [parameter]:180 Enter	Specify the angle of origin of the ellipse arc

Draw a multiple-segment line again. Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Step 5 Draw the toilet

(1) Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:

Specify the corner point or [Chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]: F Enter
	Select the "Fillet" option to add rounded corners to the rectangle
Specify fillet radius for rectangles <5.0000>: 3 Enter
	Specify a fillet radius of 3
Specify the corner point or [chamfer/elevation/fillet/thickness/width]:190,215 Enter
	Specifies that the first corner point of the rectangle is (190,215)
Specify other corner or [dimensions]:250,250 Enter
	Specifies that the second corner point of the rectangle is (250,250)

(2) Then draw a rectangle with no rounded corners between the point (215,215) and the point (225,205).

(3) Select the icon on the Draw toolbar and, as prompted, enter the command line:
