Conversion Functions in Oracle

There are three conversion functions in Oracle, TO_CHAR (), To_date (), To_number ()

1. Usage of To_char ()

Formatting the current date time

Select Sysdate,to_char (sysdate, ' Yyyy-mm-dd ') from dual

Select Sysdate,to_char (sysdate, ' Yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss ') from dual

Select Sysdate,to_char (sysdate, ' yyyy ') from dual

2. Usage of to_date ()

Change a string to a date

Select To_date (' 1991-03-09 ', ' YYYY-MM-DD ') from dual

3. Because Oracle has the silver conversion function of data, so ' 2 ' and 2 are the same in Oracle, To_number () does not
