Cygwin is a collection of many free software that was initially developed by Cygnus Solutions to run UNIX-like systems on Microsoft Windows of various versions. Cygwin primarily aims to migrate software on POSIX systems (such as Linux, BSD, and other Unix systems) to Windows through recompilation. It consists of two parts: a DLL (cygwin1.dll) that simulates Linux API functions, and a series of Linux sensory tools.
GNU + Cygnus + Windows = cygwin. For details, refer to the home page of cygwin.
To install cygwin, you can install cygwin through the network or locally. If you install the SDK through the network, you can manage the installation and upgrade of the installation file. You can identify the version and install the corresponding toolkit on your own. You can select a specific installation toolkit. If it is fully installed, 4 GB space may be required.
