Eight, mirrored volume

Users can make a single mirrored volume from a simple volume within a dynamic disk to an unallocated space within another dynamic disk, or they can make up to two unallocated possible spaces into a mirrored volume. The system gives a logical drive letter that stores exactly the same data in both regions.

1, consisting of 2 disks, must be located in the dynamic disk;

2, the use of RAID-1 technology;

3. The capacity of the two volumes that make up the volume must be the same;

4, can contain the system volume and the active volume;

5. The member cannot include the EFI system partition of the GPT disk;

6, the system will store the data in two disks simultaneously. Therefore, when a piece of disk fails, the system can still use data from another disk, and therefore has fault-tolerant functions.

7, when reading the data of the volume, the system can read the data from both disks simultaneously, so the mirrored volume can improve the efficiency of reading data.

8, because the disk space of the mirrored volume is valid only 50%, (the data in two disks is the same), so the unit storage cost per MB is higher.

9, can no longer be expanded;

10, only the server-level Windows operating system is supported;

11, the entire mirrored volume as a whole. If you want one of the members to be used alone, you need to break the mirror, remove the mirror, and delete the mirrored volume.

1. Create a mirrored volume

Connected to three disk, the size of 10G, 12G, 14G, have been online, the initialization of dynamic disk operations.

Select the disk, enter the size. You can select only two disks, you cannot select more disks, and the size must be the same.

The results after completion are as follows:

2. Interrupt the mirrored volume

After the operation, the original two members become separate simple volumes, and the data in them is preserved while assigning a drive letter to the other volume.

3. Remove the image

The data on the deleted member is deleted, and the space it occupies becomes unallocated space.

4. Delete the mirrored volume

Data for two members will be deleted and two members will become unallocated space.

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s1.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/8A/81/wKioL1gy07OgCwn3AAFf6tBd1wY769.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_1772863599.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 41.jpg alt= "Wkiol1gy07ogcwn3aaff6tbd1wy769.jpg-wh_50"/>

5, the repair of the mirrored volume

The mirrored volume will fail when the virtual machine's settings will be removed with mirrored disk 2. Here's how to repair a mirrored volume

(In order to repair, the test can be added a new hard disk, the size must be larger than the size of the mirrored volume; there is no need to add a new virtual hard disk because there is a 14G hard drive in front of it)

Failure phenomena:

Failure of the hard drive, will now be "repeated failure", "lost" and other prompts;

The process of repairing is essentially rebuilding the image, and you must delete the original image before rebuilding the image.

Right-click on the "Missing" volume and select "Remove Mirror"

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s2.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/8A/85/wKiom1gy07iinGxrAAGqXRbTIgE412.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_2155781440.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 45.jpg alt= "Wkiom1gy07iingxraagqxrbtige412.jpg-wh_50"/>

Select the "Missing" disk and complete the "Delete mirror" operation. At this point, the "lost" disappears. This makes it possible to recreate the image for another volume that still exists.

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s2.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/8A/81/wKioL1gy07mCSAOjAAFOe4MEsC8106.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_3465380229.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 46.jpg alt= "Wkiol1gy07mcsaojaafoe4mesc8106.jpg-wh_50"/>

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s2.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/8A/81/wKioL1gy07qR-10FAACdSyQLDQ4228.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_1212697282.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 47.jpg alt= "Wkiol1gy07qr-10faacdsyqldq4228.jpg-wh_50"/>

Add Mirror: Because the disks in the original volume have data, it takes time to replicate the data synchronously when the mirror is rebuilt.

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s2.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/8A/85/wKiom1gy07ujQwsFAAD1GZoyskQ006.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_4112621564.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 48.jpg alt= "Wkiom1gy07ujqwsfaad1gzoyskq006.jpg-wh_50"/>

6. reactivate the disk

When a disk in a volume is temporarily unreachable (offline, missing, or online), after reconnecting, you need to click "Reactivate Disk" to complete the connection operation and restore it to normal.

Take one of the disks offline;

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s1.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/8A/85/wKiom1gy07zQXUIfAAEUnpJSzRY405.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_54183746.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 49.jpg alt= "Wkiom1gy07zqxuifaaeunpjszry405.jpg-wh_50"/>

The following results will appear:

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s5.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/8A/81/wKioL1gy072TwrQKAAERu3Ug0WU708.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_3370178142.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 51.jpg alt= "Wkiol1gy072twrqkaaeru3ug0wu708.jpg-wh_50"/>

Assuming the disk is reconnected, select "Online"

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/8A/85/wKiom1gy076A9sB3AAD1SYIcF4g337.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_4020668457.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 52.jpg alt= "Wkiom1gy076a9sb3aad1syicf4g337.jpg-wh_50"/>

Select "Reactivate Volume"

650) this.width=650; "Src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/8A/81/wKioL1gy08DRDBGzAAFMpuBkT8E067.jpg-wh_500x0-wm_3 -wmp_4-s_821625077.jpg "style=" Float:none; "title=" snapshot 53.jpg alt= "Wkiol1gy08drdbgzaafmpubkt8e067.jpg-wh_50"/>

There may be some data changes due to the offline period, which requires resynchronization
