Now let's take a standard PC as an example and start with the installation process of FreeBSD 7.0.

First of all, you need to have FreeBSD 7.0 installation CD, you can download the official website http://www.freebsd.org/ To install the image, burn to use after the CD. If you are in vain
To install in the machine, directly download the mirror can be. FreeBSD 7.0 has 3 installed discs and is in ISO format. The first CD-ROM 7.0-release-i386-disc1.iso can meet the minimum installation, and if you need to install additional components, you will need to download the remaining two discs.

Load the first disc into the optical drive and set the computer to boot with the CD-ROM. Then turn on the computer.

After starting the computer, after some loading process, the FreeBSD boot screen is loaded, as shown in the following figure:

Now, press ENTER or the number 1 key to select the first item to start the FreeBSD installer by default. If you do not make a selection, Setup will automatically start this way after 10 seconds.

After some loading process, begin to enter the installation wizard. Before you enter the wizard, you will first be asked to choose your country. Press the keyboard direction key to select China, for our country, enter a OK.

The next screen is asking you to choose the keyboard type. China and Europe and the United States are using the U.S. keyboard, we can directly use the default option USA ISO, enter the next step to confirm.

Officially entered the Installation Wizard, the FreeBSD 7.0 installer named Sysinstall. Now what you see is the main menu of Sysinstall, which has various installation options. Use the arrow keys to select Standard items, carriage return confirmation, enter the standard installation.

First you will see an Installation prompt message box to confirm.

Now you see the Partition Wizard, which lists your hard drive information. In general, we press a key to disk A, use the automatic partitioning function, or create partitions manually. Here we press a key, automatic partition complete. Press the keyboard Q key to complete the partition.

Here is a question about what hard drive boot program you are installing. The first is to use the FreeBSD boot loader, the second is the standard boot, and the third is not to install the bootstrapper. If we install a single operating system, please select the second item. If you have more than one operating system, select the first item. The third item is not installed, which refers to the use of the boot program for other operating systems that are already present. We select the second item to confirm.
