Install Ubuntu dual-system in win7

Source: Internet
Author: User

One day, when I installed a dual system, I felt that it was not difficult. The most important thing was that I knew how win7 and the dual system could coexist.

Let's talk about my system configuration, win7 (I 7 processor, 1 TB hard disk, 4G memory) + ubuntu12.04 desktop edition (the latest version was installed on 2012.10.10 at that time)

Go straight to the question:

I. Preparations (this is irrelevant to Ubuntu and is fully operated under win7)

I am a 4G memory, 1 TB hard drive. If I only install Linux, is it a bit cool? Haha ...... This is why I chose a dual-system.

1. First, in win7, leave a space for the Linux installation so that you can accommodate it. Otherwise, where does it live? Therefore, you need to take up a disk. Of course, you can use the partitioning tool to allocate a suitable size area to Ubuntu. If you feel that there is a size of F disk, it is suitable for Linux, format and delete the file directly! (Haha, don't be afraid. delete doesn't mean no, because Linux can only be used after deletion! It doesn't matter if you are bold enough to delete it. We still have partition tools for our users, which won't waste your space .)

Method 1: use the tool provided by windows to format and delete the file, on the computer, right-click, manage, and manage disks, select the corresponding drive letter, and format and delete the volume (the size of the volume deleted is the size of the space you allocated to Linux)

Method 2: Recommended tools:Pqpartition Software

Take a look at the detailed partitioning process. The software is very useful.

PS: formatting and deleting the hard disk is the size of the space you allocate to the Linux system. You can choose the disk size based on your own situation.

!!! Key steps:Decompress the Ubuntu ISO file, which contains a Casper folder, and copy the vmlinuz and initrd. LZ files to the C root directory.

PS: the reason for storing the package in the root directory of the C drive is that it can boot the installer during startup. Here is a problem ......

II. Key operations

1. Install the easybcd software and start

The red font indicates the operation sequence, which is easy to understand ............

Click Configure and a TXT file will pop up. Now we have to write the command to it (but remember to remove the configuration just now after Linux is successfully installed, otherwise, the system will prompt the Linux Installation option every time you start the computer. The location is marked with 3 and will change to remove after configuration ):

Add the following code:

Title install ubuntu11.10
Root (hd0, 0)
Kernel (hd0, 0)/vmlinuz boot = Casper iso-Scan/filename =/ubuntu-11.10-oneiric-dvd-i386.iso locale = zh_CN.UTF-8
Initrd (hd0, 0)/initrd. LZ

:

Note: The file names of A/ISO must be consistent. Because I am using someone else's file, the version number is incorrect because I installed 12.04, you only need to modify your version. You can modify it on the third line!

B/Save and close the software. Do not operate the following stuff. Do not worry about what you want to add to the imgfile or anything. Exit!

C/put the downloaded ubunt image file. ISO in the C drive and directory.

So far, all the operations in windows have been completed, and the rest is the installation of Linux!

3. restart the computer

Restart and select the neogrub bootloader startup Item.UbuntuDo not click the Installation System icon on the desktop.

1. Click application-attachment-terminal in the upper left corner of the desktop, enter the sudo umount-L/isodevice command, and press Enter. This is mainly to prevent the "unable to unmount mount point" error during installation.

2. Click Install Ubuntu on the desktop step by step and select install as prompted.

NOTE: If there is no time to select the option when Windows 7 is restarted due to a flash on the page, you need to configure easybcd again:

Click Edit boot menu and there will be any time to set the delay option at the bottom right, such
Every 5 seconds ......

Then, restart ......

PS: restarting the computer sometimes causes a problem "file not found" --- "no file ......"

If you confirm that the above operations are correct, it is one reason that your system is not starting (hd0, 0). Although you copy the file to drive C, however, disk C may not be a direct boot disk. Because my computer is not, the first partition of my computer's hard disk is not a drive C, it is the second one! This can be seen on your computer, but it is also in disk management, to see if the first part is a C disk, if not, therefore, you need to change all (hd0, 0) in the file you Just configured to (hd0, 1 ). (Assume the second one)

3. Go to the installation page:

The rest is your Linux installation knowledge ...... If you do not know the partition knowledge, go to another blog article on LINUX partition. You can find it in the left navigation bar ......

4. After installation is complete

After the installation is complete, you will find that the Linux Installation option is available every time you start the system. If you accidentally click it, the system will reinstall the installation. How can I delete the installation guide option?

Or the easycd software, enter the location of the configuration file at the beginning, click remove, and restart will not have the option of boot installation. If you restart and wait for a long time to automatically enter windows, you can change the time to a fraction of one second or zero when you enter the edit boot menu. It won't wait.

Wish you a pleasant journey ......
