IntelliJ idea 15 and Maven to create a Java Web project

File--new

Input GroupID and Artifactid

Choose a locally installed maven and join Archetypecatalog

Enter project name

Click Finish and MAVEN will build

Project structure after new completion

Select the installed JDK

Create a new Java directory under the main directory and set it as the source directory.

Join Tomcat

Start Tomcat
