Dropdatabase () method

The MongoDB db.dropdatabase () command is used to delete an existing database.

Grammar:

The basic syntax for the dropdatabase () command is as follows:

DB.  Dropdatabase()  

This will delete the selected database. If you have not selected any databases, then it will delete the default ' test ' database

Example:

First, check the list database by using the command show DBS

>Show dbslocal      0.78125GB0.23012GB0.23012GB>     

If you want to delete the new database <mydb>, then the dropdatabase () command is as follows:

>use mydbswitched to db mydb>db.  Dropdatabase()>{"Dropped":"MyDB","OK":1}> 

Now check the list of databases

>Show dbslocal      0.78125GB0.23012GB>
