According to a recent study by the NSS lab, IE8 is superior to other browsers in malware protection. NSS said that more than 50% of malware is downloaded and spread over the Internet, the lab tested the interception performance of malicious websites in five mainstream browsers for the first time. IE8 (RC version) ranked first with an interception rate of 69%.
The browsers involved in the test are Apple's Safari 3, Google's chrome 1.0.154, Microsoft IE8 (RC1), IE7, Mozilla's Firefox 3.07, and opera 9.64, respectively, during the period from January 1, February 26-3 to April 10, the NSS lab tested 5149 URLs and obtained 154702 test results. The smartscreen filter of IE8 has the shortest time to intercept known and tested malicious websites, the score is far ahead of other browsers.
Among them, Firefox 3.07 malicious website interception rate is 30%, Safari 3 is 24%, chrome1.0 is 16%, opera 9.64 is 5%, the worst score is IE7, and its interception rate is only 4%.
