No matter how fast our computers are, how complicated the database is, or how powerful the programming tools are, human intelligence and a set of correct "thinking principles" remain irreplaceable. Therefore, although it is important to learn the details of the technologies used in applications, it is more important to know how to consider appropriate use of these technologies.

Thomas Kyte is one of the smartest people I know. He has extensive knowledge in Oracle Database, SQL, performance tuning, and application design. I'm sure Thomas is definitely a follower of "Think" and "Think different. A wise man from China said, "Give a fish for a meal; give a fish for life." Thomas thinks this is true. Thomas is happy to share his Oracle knowledge with everyone, but he does not just list the answers to the questions, but tries his best to help everyone learn how to think and reason.

· Do not believe in myth. Think for yourself.

· Do not stick to the rules. What everyone knows is likely to be wrong!

· Do not trust rumors. You must test your own and make a decision based on proven examples.

· Resolve the problem into a simpler small problem, and then combine the answers in each step into an excellent and efficient solution.

· If the database can complete the work better and faster, do not write your own programs.

· Understand the gap between ideal and reality.

· Challenges should be raised to the company's unconfirmed technical standards.

· Consider how to do the best for the current needs.

· It takes time to fully think.
