Problem

I use the partition Manager software to change the system format of e disk to NTFS

Action prompt failure prompt as shown.

Then I opened my e-disk data, found that the data are basically missing ...

I think the rest of the space is the same as before, how does this restore data?

Answer

First, the reason for the data loss, and my view on the adjustment zoning:

PQ is an unstable software, we often encountered in data recovery work due to the combination of PQ, split caused by data failure. The reason for my analysis may be: PQ is a third party software, the interpretation of the file system and Microsoft's interpretation is still not completely consistent (Microsoft, like the NTFS file system code is currently completely private, other companies can only be in black box for research, Some structures are not currently known), so when the file system is faulty, or PQ for the file system understanding is not correct, PQ operation is likely to lead to data disaster, and PQ algorithm design is not rigorous, not very good set backtracking algorithm, resulting in the middle of the program flow can not have any errors, Otherwise the data may be lost; another, PQ is foreign software, for the Chinese character set processing is very poor, in many cases PQ conversion success of the partition, Chinese characters into garbled.

So the best way I propose to redistribute space is the most old-fashioned, but definitely the most useful: find a piece of mobile hard drive to get the migrated data involved, then delete the partitions, rebuild the partitions, and copy the data back. (Do not doubt that this does not have to be less time, PQ is doing so, but he moved internally, this approach is to move outside.) If you have additional transit space, in many cases it will be faster than PQ.

If you must use PQ, it is recommended that you back up the data that is particularly important and perform chkdsk/f/x D: Then adjust it with PQ.

Again, data recovery after an error:

PQ is merged and occupies space, but the file is not visible, which is actually caused by the directory structure being corrupted by PQ. Under normal circumstances, these directory structures should still be found. So this time without any action, the data should be recoverable.

The best options for individual processing are as follows:

Refer to my written "wrong format, mistakenly delete emergency contingency plan" (must look carefully)

Recover with data recovery tools such as FinalData Easyrecovery, but the target disk must be selected for a different partition when recovering.

If not, change the data recovery software, or turn to the data recovery company.
