Printer sharing-how to set up shared printers in win7 system-how to set up win7

Nowadays, many officer uses win7, and many people are confused that the computer does not have a printer. Now, share the printer in the LAN.

First, disable the Guest account because all computers installed with printers are accessed by the guest account. Click Start, right-click computer, and choose manage, as shown in:

In the displayed Computer Management window, find the Guest user, as shown in:

Double-click Guest to open the Guest Properties window and make sure that the Disabled Account option is not checked, as shown in:

Next we will share the printer. Click Start and select devices and printers, as shown in:

In the displayed window, right-click the printer and select printer properties, as shown in:

Switch to the sharing tab, Select Share printer, and set a sharing name, as shown in:

Next, we need to configure advanced sharing. Right-click the network connection icon of the system tray and choose open network and sharing center, as shown in:

Remember the network type, and click Select family group and sharing options in the pop-up window, as shown in:

Click Change advanced sharing settings, as shown in:

For families or work networks, see [change advanced sharing settings]. The key options are marked in red circles. Do not forget to save the changes after the settings are complete.

NOTE: If it is a public network, the specific settings are similar to the above, but you should set the options below [public] instead of under [home or work], as shown in:

Set a working group: before adding a target printer, you must first determine whether all computers in the LAN are in a working group. The procedure is as follows:

Click Start, right-click computer, and select Properties, as shown in:

In the displayed window, locate the workgroup. If the workgroup settings of the computer are inconsistent, click Change settings. If they are consistent, exit directly and go to step 2.

Note: Remember [computer name], which will be used later.

If you are in a different Workgroup, you can set it in this window:

Note: This setting takes effect only after restart, so do not forget to restart your computer after the setting is complete to make the setting take effect.

Add the target printer to another computer

Note: This step is performed on other computers on the LAN that need to share printers. This step is similar in XP and Win7 systems. This article uses Win7 as an example.

There are multiple methods to add. Here we will introduce you to two methods.

First, either way, you should first enter the control panel, open the devices and printers window, and click Add Printer, as shown in:

Next, select Add network, wireless or Bluetooth printer, and click Next, as shown in:

After you click "Next", the system will automatically search for available printers.

If the preceding steps are correctly set, you only need to wait patiently. Generally, the system can find them. Next, you only need to follow the prompts to perform step-by-step operations.

If you wait patiently and the system still cannot find the desired printer, you can also click [My required printer is not in the list] and then click [next], as shown in:

If you have no patience, click "stop", click "My required printer is not in the list", and then click "Next", as shown in:

There are multiple methods for the subsequent settings.

Method 1:

1. Select Browse printer and click Next, as shown in:

Find the computer that is connected to the printer and click Select, as shown in:

Select the target printer (the printer name is set in step 2) and click Select, as shown in:

The next operation is relatively simple. The system will automatically find and install the driver of the printer. Now, the printer is successfully added.

Method 2:

In the "Add Printer" window, select "share printer by name" and enter "\ computer name \ printer name" (both the computer name and printer name are mentioned above, you can check the settings in step 2 and step 4 ). If the preceding settings are correct, a prompt (such as) is displayed after the input is complete ).

Click Next ].

Note: if the system does not automatically prompt in this step, you may not be able to find the target printer by clicking Next, in this case, we can replace "computer name" with "IP", as shown below:

For example, if the IP address of the author is 10.0.32.80, enter \ 10.0.32.80 \ Canon ". To view the system IP address, follow these steps:

Click the Network icon of the system tray and select Open Network and sharing center, as shown in:

In network and sharing center, find local connection and click, as shown in:

In the displayed local connection status window, click details, as shown in:

The IPv4 address marked in the red circle is the IP address of the local machine.

Next, continue with the previous steps. Like the first method, the system will find the device and install the driver. The reader only needs to wait patiently.

Then the system will prompt you that the printer has been successfully added. Click Next, as shown in:

Now, the printer has been added. If necessary, click Print test page to test whether the printer works normally. You can also click Finish to exit this window, as shown in:

After the printer is added, you can see the newly added printer in the device and printer window of control panel, as shown in:

So far, the entire process has been completed.
