Project management-how to maximize the role of a Project Manager

A project manager is a manager for a large project or a small project. For a large project, the vice president of the company is handsome. How can project managers play their roles in different projects? For projects of dozens or even hundreds of people, the ways in which the project manager works are different.

For a small project, the number of people is the same. The project manager can estimate what needs to be done, and the requirements, design, testing, coding, and testing are all required. At this stage, we work more and think more, which is the greatest contribution to the project.

The project manager should consider the question of "how to maximize their own role" when the project is on the 10th. Some people say that the project manager is mixed, right, and not all. There are some project managers who write core code to show that they are fighting at the front-line. Other project managers, who do not understand the technology themselves, only use some tools for management, for example, if you use a project to make some beautiful plans, and then follow the plan to force the project team to complete the task, you will not ask anything else. This represents two very different and typical project managers. The first type is to be a project manager when you are a child, and the second type is dedicated to management and project manager when you are a technical engineer.

In the previous category, it is unreasonable for the project manager to write code. First, it takes a long time to write the code, so there is no time to manage it. Second, maintenance is required after the code is written, as a project manager, even if your code is poorly written, few people will point out that this is not good for the project. In addition, going deep into the details, there will be no overall picture; finally, there will be an impulse to ask others based on their own standards, or when others do not do well, I am tired of myself and team members.

In the latter category, it is feasible for a well-regulated company, but in the domestic R & D status, if you do not understand the technology or business, the Project Manager will be marginalized, the last step is to write a report.

Project managers, such as project roles, project plans, project processes, and routine tracking, should do their best. These jobs are the responsibility of the Project Manager.

Project roles: the first thing to do for a project is what kind of people are needed. The project manager has to be aware of the issues. If there are few questions, ask the architect or technical manager. The project should be determined before it starts.

The project process is very important. For example, how should we do this? Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4. For example, how does one change to a product function?

Project Plan, set several milestones, estimate the workload according to the design, and determine the project plan.

Daily tracking, weekly and daily progress, and how to handle delays, there are still a lot of daily management tasks.

 

After completing these four tasks, the Project Manager can score 80 points. If you want to score 98, the project manager has to check the demand, because the demand determines the workload and resources of the project and the product trend. This is critical. Can the project manager do the design or architecture? It should be okay, because this kind of work is only a little busy in the early stage, just busy for a while.

 

The project manager should try not to write code with a heavy workload. Internal tools and small functions can be used for this reason as mentioned above.
