RedHat Linux as 5 VirtualBox3.1.6 enhancements installation __linux

1. Enter the red Hat Linux as 5 system installed under the VirtualBox, click "Install Enhancements" under the "Device" menu to see Vboxadditions_3.1.6_59338.iso in the CD-ROM of the Linux system
2. Go to CD and execute installation files
[Root@localhost ~]# cd/media/vboxadditions_3.1.6_59338
[Root@localhost vboxadditions_3.1.6_59338]#./autorun.sh
Prompt permission is not enough, you can copy folder vboxadditions_3.1.6_59338 to the hard disk directory, and modify permissions.
3. Copy and Modify Permissions
[Root@localhost ~]# Cp–r/media/vboxadditions_3.1.6_59338/usr/local/vboxadditions
[Root@localhost ~]# chmod a+x/usr/local/vboxadditions
4. Run the installation
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]#./vboxlinuxadditions-x86.run
Verifying Archive Integrity ... All good.

5. View/var/log/vboxadd-install.log Information
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]# Cat/var/log/vboxadd-install.log
Error:unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify kern_dir=<directory> and run make again. Stop it.
6. Check if Kernel-devel and Kernel-headers are installed
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]# rpm–q Kernel-devel
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]# rpm–q kernel-headers
7. Installation of Kernel-devel Kernel-headers
Put the installation CD that will Redhat Linux as 5 and enter the server directory
[Root@localhost ~]# Cd/media/cdrom/server
[Root@localhost server]# RPM–IVH kernel-headers-2.6.18-8.el5.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM–IVH kernel-devel-2.6.18-8.el5.i686.rpm
Install the Kernel-devel and kernel-headers two packages to configure the compilation environment
[Root@localhost server]# yum install kernel-devel kernel-headers
8. Enter the directory again/usr/local/vboxadditions execute installation files
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]#./vboxlinuxadditions-x86.run
Prompt failed, viewing error message, indicating no GCC found
9. Install GCC
Put the installation CD that will Redhat Linux as 5 and enter the server directory
[Root@localhost ~]# Cd/media/cdrom/server
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH glibc-headers-2.5-12.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH glibc-devel-2.5-12.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH libgomp-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH gcc-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH libstdc++-devel-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm
[Root@localhost server]# RPM-IVH gcc-c++-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm
10. Re-enter the directory/usr/local/vboxadditions installation execution file
[Root@localhost vboxadditions]#./vboxlinuxadditions-x86.run
Finally completes the installation.
