1. Tar-zxvf proftpd-1.3.5.tar.gz # decompress package

2, CD proftpd-1.3.5 # enter the Directory

3../configure # configure and execute the configure executable script to configure and collect system information to generate the MAKEFILE file.

Option: -- prefix specifies the installation directory.

Best Practice: -- prefix =/usr/local/ProFTPD

# Check the prompt!

# Re-Execute configure after an error is found and the error is resolved

# If no error message is reported, perform the next step.

4. Make # compile
