Report Designer wizard

1. Introduction

Pentaho Report Designer is a WYSIWYG open-source Report design tool. When designing a report, you can drag and drop various report controls at will, and quickly and conveniently set the report data source. You can preview the report results at any time during the report design process. Is a good report design tool.

2. Technical Features
The following briefly lists some of the main technical features of Pentaho Report Designer:
(1) Using JFreeReport as the core engine;
(2) is a WYSIWYG report design tool. Graphical interface, supports drag and drop, supports 5 formats (PDF, HTML, XLS, RTF, CSV) preview and report generation.
(3) is an independent report design tool. The Report Server does not depend on Pentaho.
(4) provides basic drawing functions. Including straight lines, rectangles, and rectangles;
(5) provides SQL query builder. This makes it easy for users to create custom queries;
(6) Support for XQuery, Mondrian, and custom data sources;
(7) provides the online report verification function to notify users of any errors in the current report at any time.

3. Disadvantages

Pentaho Report Designer has the following limitations:
(1) There is no Chinese version.
(2) diagonal lines are not supported. If you encounter some Chinese-style reports that require diagonal lines, you will not be able.
(3) The report format adjustment function is weak. In order to adjust multiple text boxes to a height, an equal width, and alignment between top, bottom, and left, it is quite difficult.
(4) There are few users and some easy-to-see bugs.

4. Reprot Designer usage

Configure the data source on the left:

Test After configuration to check whether the configuration is correct

Note: If you cannot find the required package in the driver, add the corresponding package to report-designer/lib/jdbc.

5. Two release methods

(1) publish: publish to bi-server

Because some statistics require input parameters, bi-server must be released first. After the release, two

File. xaction and. XML, and then use design studio to make some modifications

(2) Publish to server: publish directly to the server

Released to bi-server,

Click report file, select the Save path, and name the file.
