In fact, you can follow this step to perform Migration Operations on common virtual machines.
Organized from: http://terrywang.net/archives/1136
- Create a new virtual machine. It is best to use an approximate or identical configuration with source.
- Copy the vdi of the source vm from the harddisk directory to the new machine directory (4.0 and later are all under the default machine folder, for example, Linux is ~ /Virtualbox VMS), overwrite existing blank VDI
- Use vboxmanage showhdinfo to obtain the uuid of VDI (the uuid of the overwritten VDI does not match the uuid of the virtual disk in the virtual machine configuration file)
- Edit the. vbox configuration file of the new virtual machine, update the uuid of harddisk (two locations), and save
- Complete. Start the VM.
Of course, you can also use the export/import function provided by virtualbox:
1. File/export Appliance
2. Delete the virtual machine in your ubalbox
3. File/import Appliance
All configurations are retained completely, and their names do not conflict.
