Introduction

This book is the latest version of a classic book that introduces TCP/IP protocol families. This book has been widely used since its publication in version 1st. The 3rd Chinese translation version of this book won the "First Prize of the best-selling book of the eighth National University Publishing House ".
The latest version of this book has been expanded to reflect the latest development of computer network technology. The book contains seven parts: 30 chapters and seven appendices: The first part introduces some basic concepts and underlying technologies; the second part introduces the network layer protocol, the third part introduces the transport layer protocol, the fourth part introduces the application layer protocol, the fifth part introduces the Next Generation Protocol, that is, the IPv6 protocol, and the sixth part introduces network security issues; the seventh part provides seven appendices.
