Ubuntu Remote Desktop

1. In XP, the default Remote Desktop Protocol is RDP, and the default port is 3389. In ubuntu, VNC: the default port is 5900.

2. First, the accessed host (Windows/Linux) must be set to allow remote access from other hosts.

In ubuntu, you only need to set system-> preferences-> Remote Desktop

In Windows, right-click my computer and choose Properties> remote.

When accessing windows through remote desktop, you must set a password for your Windows account.

Sudo apt-Get install xrdp

In Windows, you can use mstsc to access the Ubuntu host.

However, in this case, operations on the Ubuntu host are not visible on Windows, and remote operations on Ubuntu on windows are not visible under ubunu.

(2) install RealVNC software under XP (using VNC Protocol)

The software will install both VNC Viewer and VNC server.

Therefore, through VNC, you can achieve mutual Remote Desktop between Ubuntu host and Windows host.

Enter the password to enter the Ubuntu Desktop.

We can see that as long as the two hosts have services with the same protocol, they can access each other.
