The role of VMware tools for virtual machines

(1). Update the graphics driver in the virtual machine so that the xwindows in the virtual machine can run in SVGA mode. It is important to install Mware tools in the guest operating system. If you do not install VMware Tools, the graphics environment in the virtual machine is limited to VGA mode graphics (640x480,16 color). Installed with the VMware TOOLS,SVGA driver, VMware Workstation supports up to 32-bit display and high display resolution, significantly improving overall graphics performance.

(2).  Time synchronization between the host and the client. Note: You can synchronize time between the customer and the host operating system only when you set the clock in the guest operating system to a time earlier than the time set in the host.

(3). Support the real startup of the same partition and start from the virtual machine, automatically modify the corresponding settings file.

(4). Automatically captures and releases the mouse cursor. When VMware Tools is not installed, you can only release the mouse with Ctrl+alt, and after you install VMware Tools, you have the ability to smoothly move the mouse cursor between the virtual machine and the host graphical user interface.

(5). Copy and paste operations between the host and client or from one virtual machine to another.

(6). Improve network performance.
