One, VMware in Linux virtual Machine screen resolution adjustment before installing modify Linux Resolution command line
When you install a Linux virtual machine in VMware, the screen resolution is usually set to 800x600 by default and cannot be set through the Screen Resolution Preferences window (System-by-preferences, screen resolution). In general, users can fix this problem by installing VMware tools, but this is not the only way to do this:
1) Open the "Display Settings" window (System-to-management, display), open the "Hardware" tab, click "Display Type" in the "Configuration" button;
2) Select the appropriate display model in the "Display" window that pops up, for example: LCD Panel 1280x1024, general LCD display.
3) Click "OK" to go back to the "Display Settings" window, open the "Settings" tab, and then select the appropriate resolution at the "Resolution" tab;
4) After clicking the "OK" button, the system will prompt to restart the X server by opening the Terminal execution command "Gdm-restart";
After the x server restarts, users can adjust the Linux virtual Machine screen resolution through the Screen resolution Preferences window. The lab environment is: Windows SP3 + VMware Workstation 6.5.3 + Fedora 7, other systems should be similar.
Install VMware Tools:
1, enter the Linux system under VMware;
2. Install VMware Tools through the [vm]->[Install WMware Tools] menu in the VMware menu bar;
3. Double-click VMware Tools on the Linux system desktop;
4, double-click Install vmwaretools-6.0.3-80004.i386.rpm.
