Article Title: VMware tips: Start a Linux system under Minicom. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Open Vmware workstation and click setting under VM on the menu bar to enter the virtual machine setting dialog box.
2. Click add to add the serial port. Follow these steps until the process is complete.
3. Connect the Development Board, open the linux virtual machine, and enter minicom on the terminal? S to enter the Setting Mode of minicom.
1) Select Serial port: Select "Serial port setup" in the menu, press enter, and then press "A" to set "Serial Device" (if Serial port 1 is used, enter/dev/ttyS0. If Serial Port 2 is used, enter/dev/ttyS1. Note that S is in uppercase) and press enter to return.
2) set the baud rate: press the "E" key to go to the "bps/par/Bits" page. If you press "I" to set the baud rate to 115200, press enter to return.
3) Data Stream Control: Press "F" to set "Hardware Flow Control" to "NO ".
Others are the default settings. Press enter to go to the main menu of the serial port settings, select Save setup as df1, and press enter to Save the settings (Save to "/etc/vminirc. df1), then select Exit to Exit the setting mode, and return to the minicom operation mode. This can be used like a Super Terminal in Windows.
4. When you power on the Development Board, you will see the linux Startup information in minicom.
