Windows 7 RTM Storage Controller Summary of some minor issues

After a period of time in the RTM version of Windows7, found that seemingly Windows7 in the storage controller has some problems, here to do the summary.

One, my desktop computer, Dell inspiron530

I have also explored some issues in the previous article, here is a brief introduction to the hardware configuration. The motherboard is Intel's 3 series, the South Bridge has only SATA connectors, one hard drive and one optical drive. A silicon image i680 storage controller is plugged into the PCI card to accommodate a hard drive and an optical drive on my old machine.

Issue 1: The driver of the silicon Image storage controller is not loaded properly during installation.

This issue has also been mentioned in previous articles, the installation of the driver can not load, or that is in the load screen jammed. Even after a long time, the loading screen passed, and then back to the installation of the hard drive option, the driver is still not installed. Install the system does not install this drive, the direct installation system (installed in the motherboard integrated controller mounted on the hard drive), and so installed the system, the operating system will automatically load the driver, this driver and I use the media installed when the manual load driver or the same.

Issue 2: After the automatic installation of the storage controller, the hard drive and the optical drive are recognized by the Computer Management tool, but my computer can not be loaded to use, restart the computer, all the hard drive and CD-ROM to normal use.

Issue 3: The first shutdown after installing the storage controller driver is not normal.

When the operating system has just been installed, some hardware and drivers are installed automatically, and there is a problem 2. After my practice proved that as long as the restart, and then use again, the problem 2 does not exist. But the first time the system restarts, there will be a new problem, that is, the shutdown is not normal. The screen is shutting down, and then it's jammed. After the normal shutdown time range, to see the hard drive light is basically not lit, power is not flameout, screen card in the Shutdown screen.

In the 7260 version, I had a more than 10-minute direct force reboot, after the system is all right, no problem.

This is the RTM version, as it has been the case before. I moved directly to the laptop and looked at it to see what was going on. have been waiting for about half an hour, blue screen ha. That means I can check the dump file.

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)
A driver is causing an inconsistent power state.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000004, The power transition timed out waiting to synchronize with the Pnp
subsystem.
Arg2: 00000258, Timeout in seconds.
Arg3: 84d7ad48, The thread currently holding on to the Pnp lock.
Arg4: 8275db24

The error message above is to say that a driver is causing the wrong power state, and the power transfer waits for the Plug and Play device synchronization to timeout.

The information above gives the error instruction and the module and the offset address. The orange Mark's place is the wrong place for me to guess. Ha: Test Al,al. The test instruction is a testing instruction that affects FR (flag register) according to the result. Test Al,al, compare yourself with yourself, this result is certainly a certain result, if the following instruction according to test al,al influence the bit of the flag register to judge the jump or something, this is likely to cause a dead loop oh, the dead loop may cause other processes to timeout. I guess this is a Microsoft coder a clerical error!
