Currently, there are a lot of compression software, but WinRAR has won everyone's favor for its small and practical use. However, this software has a lot of practical skills. Using them can make us get twice the result with half the effort.
1. Create a self-extracting File
If you use WinRAR to compress files, and your friends do not use WinRAR, your data must be compressed before you can compress the files. Then, we can make the RAR compressed package into an EXE file. You only need to execute the generated EXE file to decompress it.
(1) Direct Generation Method
For example, if we want to compress the C: \ general manager file into an EXE file, we can start "Resource Manager", select the C: \ general manager file. txt, right-click, select WinRAR> "add to compressed package. Then, in the "compressed file name and Parameters" setting window, select the check box (1) Before "Create a compressed file in self-decompressed format" under "compression options ). Click OK to compress the selected file into a self-decompressed file.

2) Conversion Method
If we have a RAR compressed package on hand, we can use WinRAR to convert it to an EXE file: Start WinRAR, locate the RAR compressed package folder, and select the RAR compressed package, select "tool"> "Convert compressed files to self-extracting format" (2) or press the Alt X key and click "OK" to generate a self-extracting file.

We only need to email the generated EXE file to a friend. After receiving the file, they just need to double-click it to decompress the file in the compressed package to the current folder.
Note: If the file cannot be decompressed, you can change the file extension from EXE to RAR. After double-clicking the file, you can use WinRAR to open the file and decompress it yourself.
2. Use WinRAR as the File Manager
WinRAR is a compression and decompression tool, but it is also a very good file manager. As long as we type a folder in the address bar, all the files under it will be displayed, and even the hidden files and file extensions will be visible! We can copy, delete, move, and run these files as in Resource Manager (3)

3. repair damaged compressed files
If you open a compressed package, you will find it damaged. Start WinRAR, locate the damaged compression folder, select the file, and then select the "Repair" button on the toolbar (Repair in English ), after confirmation, WinRAR starts to repair the file and the repair window is displayed (4 ). You only need to select the fixed ZIP file package or RAR file package.

4. Automatic shutdown after compression
Start "Resource Manager" and select a file. Right-click and choose WinRAR> "add to compressed package" to open the "compressed package name and Parameters" window, and click the "advanced" tab, then select the "turn off computer power" check box (5 ). In this way, the machine will automatically shut down after the data is backed up.
