Displays the current system date settings. If used without parameters, date displays the current system date setting and prompts you to type a new date.

Grammar
Date [Mm-dd-yy] [/t]

Parameters
Mm-dd-yy
Set the specified date, where mm refers to the month, DD refers to days, YY refers to the year.
/t
Displays the current date, but does not prompt you to type a new date.
/?
Display Help at the command prompt.
Comments
MM, DD, and yy must be separated by a period (.), a hyphen (-), or a slash mark (/).
The valid values for mm range from 1 to 12.
DD Valid values range from 1 to 31.
The valid values for YY range from 80 to 99 or from 1980 to 2099.
Windows XP automatically changes the month and year, regardless of whether one months are 28 days, 29 days, 30 days, or 31 days.
Example
To change the date to August 3, 2000, type one of the following commands:

08.03.00

08-03-00

08/03/00

To display the current system date, type:

date/t
