IPlanet Web Server Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

There is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the IPlanet Web Server 4.x. This vulnerability allows a malicious user to execute arbitrary code remotely or generate a denial-of-service attack.

A buffer overflow is generated by sending an HTTP request with a length of approximately 198-240 characters and a. shtml suffix.

The vulnerability is exploited only if the ' parsing ' option is open on the server side. Successfully exploited this vulnerability a malicious attacker could fully control the target host.
